A complete silver-gilt posy ring of 17th or early 18th century date. The ring is heavy D-shaped sectioned hoop with a plain outer surface. The 2.5mm thick hoop is solid silver and was originally gilded. The gilding has largely worn off, particularly on the outer surface. The band shows a transverse line likely indicating that the hoop was created by bending a strip of silver and joining the ends with silver solder. The diameter of the object is similar to that of a three pence coin and suggests that it has possibly been modified for reuse as a token. The object has a smooth surface with punched motifs, including of a bunch of grapes. Obverse: Punched grape motif, letter Y, plus possible A or upside-down Y. A fragment of a silver post-medieval shilling of Edward VI (1547-1553), unclear mint, 1549-1550 (North 1918/1-1925). Two segments have been removed from the coin leaving a roughly triangular piece, which encompasses most of the central area of the coin along with part of the inscribed edge. The coin appears to have then been rolled up, but a recent break has caused the last segment to separate from the rest of the coin, leaving it in two pieces. The coin is a mule of a Tower of London obverse with the pellet initial mark with an Aberystwyth reverse with the book initial mark (North 1991, p. 172, no. 2342, see footnote 114).

A silver post-medieval sixpence of William III (1694-1702), unclear mint, 1695-1700. The coin is very worn and is bent. The coin appears to have been bent twice, but is now partially straightened, possibly by the finder or as a result of movement within the ploughsoil. Coins with a double bend are sometimes referred to as love tokens but they may have been used for supposed amuletic properties.
