A complete Medieval lead bulla (Papal seal) of Pope Boniface VIII, dating from c. 1294 to 1303. The object consists of a circular cast lead disk, 35.7mm in diameter and 5.2mm in thickness, with raised inscriptions and decoration. The obverse features the inscription BO[n]I/[F]AIVS/PP(omega above)[:]VIII The reverse features the inscription SPASPE over two stylised portraits of St. Paul and St. Peter. An incomplete cast lead circular lead Papal Bulla of medieval date (c.1150-1500). Heavily worn and the face has no trace of the stamp meaning a specific Pope cannot be identified. On the obverse it is just possible to identify the letters SPASPE - 'SPA' for St. Paul to the left and 'SPE' for St. Peter to the right. The object is a cast lead sub-circular seal (37.6mm wide and 34.2mm long, 5mm maximum thickness), and is decorated on both faces with a die axis of zero. Incomplete papal bulla, probably dating to the 13th century. The bulla has broken along the centre, at the point where the cord passed through. The obverse is of the standard form, depicting the bearded head of Saint Paul pictured beneath the legend S P A. The reverse is difficult to determine because of the fragmentary nature of the bulla. The top line would appear to end in a rounded letter E, the middle row ends with the letter S, with a vertical or near-vertical stroke preceding the S, possibly an I. Obverse - within a beaded border the name of the pontiff: INNOCENTIVS PP IIII. Reverse - Within a beaded border, and set within beaded frames, dext. The head of St Paul, sin.
