A complete cast lead object, likely a weight or a uniface token, of post Medieval date (c.1500-1850). The object is circular in plan (diameter 32mm) with max thickness of 6.4mm. The obverse of the object has moulded letters I S (or S I) with a circular moulding between. Traces of a further moulded circumferential design preserve above and below the central legend, and may have been a further legend, but cannot be discerned due to surface corrosion. The obverse is a mottled medium patina, the reverse is mostly light grey/buff. The object weighs 40.03g.

Lead suspension weight of uncertain date, possibly medieval or post medieval The cast lead weight is of sub-trapezoidal form and is complete or near-complete (with a length of 58.7mm). The weight has flat faces, producing a rectangular body section (11mm -12mm thick) and has straight sides, diverging towards the base (where the weight has a width of 31.5mm). The sub-circular perforation (5.5mm diameter) is positioned just below the rounded apex. There is no decoration evident on either face. The weigh currently weighs 141.53g, equivalent to 4.9923 ounces and it seems likely that…

Perforated lead, or lead alloy, discoidal weight.. One side of the weight is decorated with a concentric circle and a series of radiating lines; the other side has been damaged, probably in antiquity, by two linear incisions. Diameter 33mm, maximum thickness 6mm, diameter of perforation 7mm, weight 43.0grams. Again, lead weights such as these are difficult to date and assign a specific function to. Excavated weights similar to this example date from the medieval period until the nineteenth century and a date at some point in this long range for this example is likely. Conventionally, p…
