A denarius of Carausius dating to the period AD 286 to 293 (Reece Period 14), PAX AVG, Pax standing left with branch and vertical sceptre. Unattributed mint. The obverse legend is likely to be [IMP CAR]AVSIVS P F AVG which equates to RIC V, pt 2, Carausius 719.  This is the third example of this particular type in Sam Moorhead's corpus for the new RIC on Carausius, but has no die-links with the other coins. There are eight denarii with this PAX AVG reverse type. Diameter: 17.3mm Weight: 3.23g

Divo Pio = dative case ('to the divine Pius' = Antoninus Pius). They turn up in very small numbers in mid-third century hoards, and are rare as single finds in Britain.
