Medieval lead seal matrix of 13th or 14th century date The cast seal matrix is of circular form and is near-complete but heavily-worn (with a maximum diameter of 25.5mm and a weight of 26.1g). The rear of the seal is convex (5.6mm thick) with a sub-rectangular loop at the apex (giving an overall depth of 11.2mm, 11.6mm long, 5.5mm thick and with an internal diameter of 3.8mm). Post Medieval fob seal matrix, probably of mid to late 18th century date. The fob seal is sub-rectangular (12.0 x 9.6mm) and is 5.7mm thick, weighing 1.6g. The rear of the frame is domed with a central piercing to take the fob chain. The intaglio is secured in a gold frame with claw grips. The intaglio is made from black glass, or possibly a stone. At the centre is the carving of a bust of a male figure.

Lead Medieval personal seal matrix, probably dating to the first half of 14th century. The matrix is of pointed oval shape and flat. The rear of the matrix has a perforated lug at the apex (now bent against the back), and a raised rib running along the length of the matrix. The die has a central floral motif consisting of an eight-pointed star. The encircling legend is in Lombardic lettering and is now very difficult to discern. Medieval copper alloy seal matrix. This is a personal seal dating from the 14th century. The matrix is flat with a perforated lug and slight low rib on the reverse. The object is intact and in good condition and exhibits coarse file marks on the reverse. Copper alloy seal matrix depicting the ‘Lamb of God’. The seal is a pointed oval shaped with a flat back incorporating a pierced lug at the apex of the matrix. The central motif depicts the lamb viewed from the side and facing to the left (in impression). The lamb’s front leg is raised and it is carrying a banner with three ribbons. Copper alloy seal matrix with a tapering hexagonal-sectioned handle embellished with incised linear decoration and a circular-shaped suspension loop (now partly broken). The handle is marked with a cross, presumably to indicate the top of the seal to ensure its correct orientation. The face of the matrix is oval in shape (19mm x 16mm) and contains a tripartite frame enclosing a central cinquefoil floral motif. The edge and the legend are badly damaged.
