Incomplete Late Iron Age to Roman copper-alloy Langton Down brooch, dating to the 1st century AD. The brooch comprises the head, upper bow, spring and pin and has a surviving height of 18.6mm. The spring was secured by open-ended cylindrical wings, which were wrapped around the spring. The wings have a surviving length of 18.5mm and are decorated with two vertical grooves near the ends. The bow is right-angled to the head and it carries reeded decoration. The sides converge slightly at the head before being parallel sided at 7.5mm wide. Copper alloy ring of uncertain age. The ring has been formed by carefully twisting together two strands of copper alloy wire (2mm diameter). The ring has an internal diameter of 3.7mm and an external diameter of 21mm. The ring has a healthy mid green patina and weighs 3.6g. It is possible the ring may be a finger ring of Roman date. While similar twisted wire 'earrings' and bracelets are known from the Roman period, the author is not aware of finger rings of the form
