An incomplete bronze anthropomorphic mount of possible late Iron Age to Roman date. The mount is probably complete with the exception of the rivet lug and minor surface loss.
The object comprises an integrally cast bronze mount in the form of a human head depicted face on. The mount is half round, with an 8.4mm long circular sectioned pointed attachment spike projecting from the centre of the hollow reverse. An incomplete cast copper alloy and enamel button and loop fastener of Roman date (c. 2nd-3rd century AD). The object is broken where the shank forks to form the loop but is otherwise complete.
The head is flat and circular, measuring 15.2mm diameter and 2.8mm thick. An incomplete copper alloy Roman sestertius of Commodus (AD 175-192). Reverse depicts Roma, helmeted and draped, seating left on shield, holding a spear in the left hand and Victory in her extended right hand. The coin is very corroded and has lost much of its rim, only part of the obverse inscription can be seen and none of the reverse inscription. Possible matches are RIC III Commodus 369, 401c, and 445.

The probable finger-ring is fragmentary, represented by the bezel and shoulders (with a surviving length of 15mm, a surviving width of 25.4mm and a weight of 4.2g). The side with better preserved shoulder has broken just below a sharp turn (where the hoop has a width of 4.1mm and a thickness of 1.9mm), suggesting a carinated or ‘keeled’ form to the finger-ring.
