The trapezoidal frame is comparatively small (with a length of 13.3mm, a width of 11.5mm and a weight of 1.1g). The brooch is incomplete, missing the pin and chain-loop (with a surviving length of 36.5mm, a surviving depth of 11.7mm and a weight of 6.3g). The top edge is straight (with a width of 13.2mm) and the sides are straight and near-parallel to the rounded end. There was a terminal knop at the centre of the base. The re is no surviving decoration on either of the plates.
