A fragment of cast copper alloy bow brooch of uncertain type, of Early Roman date (c 43-200AD). The brooch consists only of the foot, catchplate and central lobed boss of the brooch, which terminates at the top in a transverse break. The lobed boss is flat with rounded edges in section with two uneven side projecting lobes and slight traces of moulded groove decoration on the front. Below the boss the brooch narrows and deepens, sweeping out behind into the solid catchplate with rolled edge. An incomplete cast copper alloy Colchester Derivative Hinged (CD H) brooch of Roman Date (c. 43-120 AD). The brooch is missing the foot, catchplate, most of the pin, and possibly some of the wings. The perforated wings of the brooch are robust and fairly large, measuring 35.6mm from end to end, and roughly cylindrical in section, with a flattened reverse. A near-complete copper alloy mount, probably a strap mount or ‘pressure tectonic’ of Late Iron Age or early Roman date (c. 100 BC-AD 200).
