A complete cast copper alloy end-looped cosmetic pestle of early Roman date (c. AD 50-200). The integrally cast pestle has a bird-headed loop at one end, measuring 12.8mm in diameter and 3.4mm wide, with the loop having a faceted oval cross section c. 3.4-4.0mm thick. The loop curves back on itself to attach to the underside of the pestle terminating in a recurved, flared lip 4.7mm wide (representing a bird’s beak). A cast copper alloy Roman finger ring of Henig Type IX, or Guiraud Type 9a (c.AD 200-410). The finger ring is solid cast and filed with eight flat undecorated facets on the outside edge, a smooth flat inner surface and straight sides. The band has an uneven width and thickness with a max width of 5.0mm, max band thickness 1.5mm, internal diameter 15.9mm, external diameter 19.6mm.
