Copper alloy finger ring, probably of Early Saxon date. The ring is complete and has similar decoration to Late Roman or Early Saxon bracelets. The terminals are currently overlapping with a space between them, if straightened the ring would have had a large diameter of c. 30mm. The decoration is symmetrical and the terminals are decorated with an incised line c.10mm from the end, with a central punched dot either side. Description of object: Gold finger-ring with a D-shaped cross-section. Externally undecorated, the flat inner face is engraved in Gothic textura (black-letter) script. The engraving appears inexpert (or corrected) in the centre, and so the reading is not clear. All interpretations agree on the first letter as i and the last two as lt. It seems most likely that it is in English and is to be read leelt, 'loyalty' (leelte is an attested Middle English spelling). The finger-ring is intact and of 'fede' type. The bezel comprises a heart, flanked on each side by a four-petalled flower, symbolising the heart sprouting flowers. Plain ring which is cast from a copper alloy and has a near plano-convex section with its inner edge being flat while its outside consists of a raised central cordon with a distinct medial ridge and short flanged edges. Cast copper alloy finger ring depicting two clasped hands on the bezel. Clasped hands are frequently found on the class of Medieval love-ring known as ‘fede’ rings. The shoulders of the ring have four horizontal side projections and one vertical projection suggesting a cuffed forearm. The hand is modelled by a series of grooves defining the fingers and a deeper side groove forming the thumb. Two cross-grooves on one of the shoulders define the underside of the wrist of one arm. The hoop is plain and has a D-shaped cross-section.

Silver gilt decorative ring with two transverse flutes on the bezel, each engraved with a repeating pattern of alternating flowers filling triangular panels. The bezel is separated from the hoop by a deep transverse mouldings of each side. Below these mouldings, the hoop has a median ridge on each side, each facet with engraved sprig-like decoration.
