Iron knife consisting of a blade and tang. The blade has a triangular cross-section and the back is parallel to the blade near the handle and is angled near the point, of Ottaway & Rogers’ (2002) form A1. The tang is of rectangular cross-section with the bottom edge in line with the blade edge. The top edge is stepped to the back of the blade.

The object comprises the hilt and upper blade of an iron sword (overall length 235mm). The surviving blade length below the lower guard is 109mm; the blade is straight and two-edged, with a width of 52mm at top, tapering to 47mm at the break. To judge from the other blades (80-95cm long: Evison 1967, 189, Appendix), about 75% of its original length is missing. The blade profile cannot, therefore, help determine the form and date, which is reliant on the guard and pommel. Late Iron Age iron bow brooch, possibly of La Tène III type and dated to the 1st century BC to the 1st century AD The brooch is incomplete and is missing the leg and pin, with a surviving length of 37.28mm and a weight of 5.2g. The brooch was of a one-piece construction and made of iron rod of circular section. The spring has four coils with an internal chord (4.3mm diameter), passing beneath the head. The head has a width of 14.61mm. The bow curves gently from the head and is straight along the mid bow. The bow has a maximum surviving diameter of 5.40mm.

Fragment of a large iron vessel (cauldron?) consisting of a separately forged leg, plano-convex in section and with a decorative outer longitudinal ridge, and part of the vessel's base. Dimensions of surviving portion of the vessel's base 96mm x 72mm, vessel thickness 6mm, length of leg 45mm, weight 276.4 grams. Although cast iron vessels of this form were used until the early twentieth century the longitudinal ridge on the leg is similar to those decorating late medieval and post-medieval copper alloy vessel legs suggesting it may be of earlier date.

Relatively slight, complete but damaged forged iron woodman's axehead. The axehead has a crescentic cutting edge, possibly worn at the top of the blade edge. The axe blade diverges to the cutting edge. The shaft-hole would have been tear shaped, but is now torn and distorted on one side. The rear of the axehead has a flat rectangular platform, which would have been used as a hammer.
