Post medieval copper alloy sword belt fitting of 16th to 17th century date The fitting is incomplete, missing two of the hooked mounts (with a length of 62.6mm and a weight of 10.7g). Incomplete copper alloy bow brooch of Colchester type, one-piece, dating to the 1st century AD, probably of the mid-1st century (Hattatt 1989). The bow is of plain gently tapering circular cross-section. There are remnants of slight wings at the head of a forward curving overhead chord-hook. The pin and spring emerged from beneath the chord and are now missing apart from the stub of the spring. All features are integral to the brooch.
