Copper alloy terminal probably of Roman date
The cast terminal is of faceted, onion-shaped form (with a length of 24.0mm, a diameter of 10.6mm – 12.4mm and a weight of 6.5g). There is a knop at the apex and a double-collar moulding at the base. Beneath the collar is an integral attachment pin of rectangular section (3.1mm x 4.0mm). There is no surviving applied decoration on the terminal. The surface is corroded and pitted with a pale to mid-green patina.
The missing component part that the terminal was attached to makes identification and dating difficult. However, the …

A cast lead-alloy anthropomorphic mount of unknown date. The mount depicts a face wearing a rimmed cap. The face is decorated with incised linework in the style of a feathered ‘masquerade’ mask around the eyes. A single perforation in on one cheek (1.7mm diameter) may represent a teardrop.
