Roman copper alloy bow brooch of T-shaped type and of 1st or 2nd century AD date The brooch is fragmentary, represented by the fragmentary head only (with a surviving length of 17.8mm, a surviving depth of 10.5mm and a weight of 6.2g). The head is truncated but employed a hinge mechanism within tubular wings (with a surviving width of 17.8mm and a maximum diameter of 6.7mm). Roman copper alloy bow brooch of 1st or 2nd century AD date The brooch is fragmentary, missing the leg pin and head-plate (with a surviving length of 37.8mm, a surviving depth of 17.5mm and a weight of 18.9g). The missing spring employed a ferrous axis bar, secured around a central, pierced D-shaped lug at the rear of the head (12.2mm long, 4.5mm thick and 5.7mm high). Roman copper alloy button-and-loop fastener of late 1st or 2nd century date The cast fastener is fragmentary, missing much of the shank, part of the head and is heavily-corroded (with an overall depth of 8.9mm and a weight of 4.9g). The head is now rounded, of sub-square form (16.4mm long, 7.4mm wide and 3.2mm thick).
