The ring is formed from a flat sheet strip of copper alloy stamped with a repeating design, bent into a ring and soldered to join the ends. The stamped design alternates between groups of three transverse bars with ribbed grooves either side of each bar, and rectangular sections containing a lozenge with concave sides and flat points.
