Description and identification Two halves of a decorated silver annular brooch frame. It is misshapen, with each part forming an elongated ‘U’ shape, which was once likely circular. The level of distortion obscures the form of the decoration on each ‘face’. Roman copper alloy brooch of Trumpet type and of 1st or 2nd century AD date The brooch is incomplete, missing the leg and pin and is heavily-corroded (with a surviving length of 31.5mm, a surviving depth of 14.3mm and a weight of 6.0g). The missing spring was secured around a lug at the centre of the rear of the head.
