Description and identification Two halves of a decorated silver annular brooch frame. It is misshapen, with each part forming an elongated ‘U’ shape, which was once likely circular. The level of distortion obscures the form of the decoration on each ‘face’. Medieval silver spoon, now in two parts, comprising a bent handle junction with bowl, and the remaining bowl, folded twice. The stem is hexagonal at the base, becoming circular in cross-section mid-way along the shaft up to the simple devolved 'diamond-point' terminal. Late medieval gilded silver finger-ring with external inscription on a plain central band, separated by a deep grooves from a 'beaded' border made up of parallel grooves. The bezel takes the form of a solid casting, raised and narrower than the band width of the ring. Gold iconographic finger-ring of late medieval or very early post-medieval date. It has a flat oval longitudinal bezel, engraved with the images of St Catherine holding a sword in her right hand. The object is a small silver annular brooch with niello decoration on both sides of the frame, which is circular in cross-section. The frame decoration comprises at least three groups transverse lines on both sides, all inlaid with niello. The pin shaft is incised with a 'wriggle work' zig-zag line on each facet. A silver brooch, fashioned from a groat (fourpenny piece) of King Edward I, 1272-1307. The coin brooch takes the form of a disc brooch, diameter 29mm. Description The reported object is a silver gilt devotional reliquary pendant (weight 17.613g.). It is of rounded arch niche form, with one hinged door. Medieval lead seal matrix, dating to the 13th century The seal matrix is pointed oval in shape and is near-complete with some recent damage to the base with a surviving length of 38.20mm and a maximum width of 23.45mm. Copper alloy thimble of conical shape, and probably dating from the later Medieval or early Post Medieval period. The thimble is domed with converging sides and is comparatively thick walled. Incomplete Medieval lead pilgrim’s ampulla, probably dating from the 13th to the 15th century. The ampulla is in poor condition with many fractures over the body and with the neck missing. The obverse face depicts a scallop shell design with fine closely placed grooves and a smooth edge, which defines the ampulla as a Spencer’s (1990) type II. The scallop design was bordered by a raised horizontal moulding. The stub of the loop may be visible on one of the sides, immediately before the break. Heavily corroded cast lead alloy finger ring, probably of Late Medieval date, c. 15th or 16th century. The internal diameter of the ring is large, suggesting the ring may have been worn over a glove. The hoop appears to be of D-shaped section and expands towards the bezel. Copper-alloy leg from a medieval or post-medieval cooking vessel, perhaps a cauldron or skillet. This is a short rectangular-sectioned leg with a bevelled base resulting in the bottom of the leg forming a narrow edge. The leg has broken at the junction with the body of the vessel, and rises to become expanded, with a concave upper surface. The patina and corrosion of the fragment suggests burning, as would be expected with a cooking vessel.

Two rim fragments - one fragment has a rim form that is slightly expanded and rounded internally, the fragment is heavily sooted on the exterior, as is consistent with use as a cooking vessel. The other fragment has a more angular internal rim with less sooting evident on the exterior. Short and stumpy straight ridged leg, with central rib and two less pronounced side ribs. The top of the leg has an area of the vessel body attached. The leg has evidence of sooting, with an addition thick carbon deposit on the interior of the body.

Relatively slight, complete but damaged forged iron woodman's axehead. The axehead has a crescentic cutting edge, possibly worn at the top of the blade edge. The axe blade diverges to the cutting edge. The shaft-hole would have been tear shaped, but is now torn and distorted on one side. The rear of the axehead has a flat rectangular platform, which would have been used as a hammer.

Perforated whetstone of rectangular cross-section, made of a fine-grained siltstone. The stone tapers gently to the flat end. The top of the whetstone has been damaged and is irregular. The perforation is regular and has been drilled; it has been positioned slightly off-centre on one face. All four faces illustrate evidence of whetting, but show no obvious sign of being dished through prolonged use.

Incomplete papal bulla, probably dating to the 13th century. The bulla has broken along the centre, at the point where the cord passed through.
