The octagonal handle tapers to a banded collar, above an openwork trilobed handle with flourishes. Description The reported object is a silver chape from a scabbard of a narrow-bladed weapon. It is formed of thin sheet metal, bent into a narrow tubular profile which tapers to a rounded tip. There is a vertical seam along one edge, which has split almost the entire length of the chape. The opening is engrailed or scalloped, the apices of which bend inwards slightly and are slightly damage. Decorative silver-gilt posy-ring. The hoop fragment is of flattened D cross-section. The outer surface is cast with a repeating pattern of cells and raised single dots or pellets. Raised dots also fill the field between the cells and the plain borders. The areas between the raised decoration are inlaid with white and green enamel, most of which is now missing. The object is a silver bodkin-type dress-pin with slot and perforation (eye) at one end, and tapering to a point at the other end. The shaft has a flattened quadrangular cross-section with bevelled edges, and is undecorated. On one face, below the slot, is a stamped hallmark .W. The pin is bent, and has not received any conservation. Length overall 109.2mm; maximum width 3.8mm; maximum thickness 2mm; weight 6.47g. This type of object is now generally recognised as a bodkin of seventeenth-century date. Similar finds from have been made at Clavering, Essex (TAR 2004, no. 245)…

Post medieval lead inkwell of 17th to 18th century date The inkwell is complete with some surface damage (with a length of 44.0mm and a weight of 254.8g). The base is flat and sub-circular with nine bold ribs (giving a diameter of 40.6mm - 13.0mm). Description: Gilded silver heart-shaped pendant engraved with the symbols of Christ's wound. The front is made from a sheet raised in repoussé style into a dome, and vertically grooved at the top to make a heart shape. It is soldered to a back-plate cut from a sheet and indented by filing to give a scalloped or cusped edge; there are seven lobes down each edge, and one at top and bottom. Silver gilt dress-hook with a lozenge-shaped back-plate cut from a sheet and cusped around the edge, to which (on the reverse) a separate hook and bar loop have been soldered. Attached to the front of the plate by solder is a hollow, lozenge-shaped silver gilt box with chamfered sides. The top is decorated with four single-strand 'rope-twist' filigree wire circlets, arranged around hollow hemispherical bosses, and small granulated pellets. Similar decoration occurs on the bevels. Gilding does not extend along the full length to the hook.
