The octagonal handle tapers to a banded collar, above an openwork trilobed handle with flourishes. A stamped copper alloy finger ring of post medieval date (18th to 19th Century). The ring is formed from a flat sheet strip of copper alloy stamped with a repeating design, bent into a ring and soldered to join the ends. The stamped design alternates between groups of three transverse bars with ribbed grooves either side of each bar, and rectangular sections containing a lozenge with concave sides and flat points. The face is decorated in a floral motif framed by incised lines forming an elongated crown shape. Description The reported object is a silver chape from a scabbard of a narrow-bladed weapon. It is formed of thin sheet metal, bent into a narrow tubular profile which tapers to a rounded tip. Decorative silver-gilt posy-ring. The hoop fragment is of flattened D cross-section. The outer surface is cast with a repeating pattern of cells and raised single dots or pellets. Gold mourning ring with stylized skull on outside of hoop. The hoop, which is misshapen, is of flattened D cross-section. The inner face of the hoop is inscribed with the text A. E. obijt 30 Jan' 17034, in italic script (A. E. died 30th January 1703/4). Internal hoop diameter 20.07 mm x 12.7mm; band width 4mm; band thickness 1.1mm; weight 3.34g. The object is a silver bodkin-type dress-pin with slot and perforation (eye) at one end, and tapering to a point at the other end. The shaft has a flattened quadrangular cross-section with bevelled edges, and is undecorated. On one face, below the slot, is a stamped hallmark .W. The pin is bent, and has not received any conservation. Length overall 109.2mm; maximum width 3.8mm; maximum thickness 2mm; weight 6.47g. Post medieval copper alloy belt or strap mount of 16th or 17th century date The mount is complete and of figurative form with a trefoil terminal (with a length of 19.2mm and a weight of 1.8g). The mount is widest at the trefoil terminal (with a width of 11.9mm) and has concave sides below, before narrowing at the base. The mount was attached using two integral, oval-sectioned rivets, closed around a strap (with a height of 6.1mm and giving an overall depth of 8.1mm). The surface has a black patina.
