Triple dots separate words, and the last name is separated from the bezel by an engraved meander with dots. The inside of the hoop is plain. Internal hoop diameter 17.9mm; …

Gold iconographic finger-ring of late medieval or very early post-medieval date. It has a flat oval longitudinal bezel, engraved with the images of St Catherine holding a sword in her right hand. A wheel (symbol of her martyrdom) protrudes from behind her left side. The hoop is decorated on the shoulders and sides with sprigs. The inside of the hoop bears the legend ·en∙boen∙eure∙ ('In Good Hour') in black-letter script, between sprigs. The rough surface of the background to the bezel suggest that this may have been enamelled, but only cleaning of this area and the decorativ…

central device in the form of a merchant's mark (comprising an encircled cross above interlaced cross stems, between small quatrefoils), within a single rope/indented border. One shoulder is engraved with a tau cross, and a slight depression below may be the remains of a motif. The hoop is slightly distorted, and the shoulder with the tau cross has severe surface scratching. There is a slightly golden colour within border indents which may be gilding, but this is difficult to verify without cleaning. Internal diameter 22.4mm ; maximum bezel width 12.3mm x 14.8; minimum hoop width 7…

Gold mourning ring with stylized skull on outside of hoop. The hoop, which is misshapen, is of flattened D cross-section. The inner face of the hoop is inscribed with the text A. Heavily corroded cast lead alloy finger ring, probably of Late Medieval date, c. 15th or 16th century. The internal diameter of the ring is large, suggesting the ring may have been worn over a glove. The hoop appears to be of D-shaped section and expands towards the bezel. The shoulders have two raised moulded ribs, leading to a circular moulded bezel containing a design, appearing to depict a crowned letter ‘W’.

Bezel from a gilt or silvered copper alloy finger ring of Early Post-Medieval date. The raised cast design depicts a cuffed hand emerging from each side of the hoop and gripping a central heart. Two flowers emerge from the top of the heart and are flattened by a crown. The remnant of the hoop has the beginnings of an incised design, but not enough survives to determine if it represented decoration or an inscription. Traces of gilding or silvering survive on areas over the surface of the ring.

Plain ring which is cast from a copper alloy and has a near plano-convex section with its inner edge being flat while its outside consists of a raised central cordon with a distinct medial ridge and short flanged edges. The flanged edges of the ring are badly damaged but show no sign of preferential wear which could be expected of the ring was an item of harness. It is large for a finger ring, having an internal diameter of 21.5mm and an external diameter of 28mm; however, the inside is worn smooth in a manner consistent with the wear on a finger ring which has been removed and replac…
