Post Medieval copper alloy finger ring, probably of 17th century date. The ring is a seal ring and has an internal diameter of 18.7mm. The hoop is of D-shaped section and is 3.5mm wide and 1.7mm thick. The hoop expands at the shoulders to form an oval bezel (16 x 4.2mm). The bezel has an oval border with beaded decoration. The central motif depicts a stylised bird and is likely to represent the popular ‘eagle and child’ with the baby wrapped in swathing at the bird’s feet. The finger ring has lost much of the original surface and weighs 5.5g.

Bronze developed flat axe (or flanged axe), probably of Type Glenalla (following Schmidt and Burgess 1981) or Class 4 (following Needham 1983; forthcoming) and dating to the Early Bronze Age, Period 3 (1950-1750 BC) (Needham 1996). The axehead is a small example with a length of 77.8mm, and is also comparatively slender with a width at the bevel of 19.9mm. The butt is rounded and the sides are near-parallel (with a width at the butt of 18.2mm) as far as the bevel. Incomplete and fragmentary mirror disc of Roman date, probably a fine type hand mirror. The nineteen fragments represent around 90% of the mirror disc, with much of the circumference present. The mirror is made of a highly polished speculum (a copper alloy containing a high concentration of tin). Speculum tends to be brittle, and this is evidenced by the fragmentary and shattered state of this example.
