The brooch has a hinge mechanism with twin lugs and an iron axis bar, evidenced by iron corrosion over the lugs. The circular brooch frame has a diameter of 34.3mm. A distal fragment of a knapped and pressure flaked knife likely dating to the Early Bronze age. The flake is made from a distal portion of a cortical flake of semi translucent unpatinated grey flint. The dorsal surface bears patches of cortex and invasive pressure flaking removal scars. The ventral surface blade edges have also been retouched to form the point and even, carefully shaped sides. Cast front plate of a crescentic strap end or belt chape of Late Medieval date possibly dating from the first half of the 15th century. The sub triangular terminal is decorated in low relief to resemble a bush or tree. The engraved lines within the circular body section represent the roots of the tree. The strap end was attached to the missing underplate by means of solder and four rivets, two in the crescent (now missing) and two near the terminal (still present).

Fragment from a Roman bow brooch, comprising of the lower bow, foot and the catch-plate. The lower bow has a D-shaped section with a central rib, and a forward projecting moulded foot. The catch on the catch-plate is set back from the foot, and with the flat base of the foot, forms a small platform. The upper edge of the catch-plate forms an arc. This form of foot is more consistent with Trumpet types of brooch of 1st to 2nd century AD date.

The fitting is composed of two pieces, an attachment plate and a small tongue, which may be eroded and broken.
