An iron cannon ball, most likely of a post medieval date. The object is spherical with areas of concretion. There is corrosion and pitting to the surface, which is orange-brown in colour. The diameter and weight could be suggestive of the type of cannon ball used in a Demi-Culverin cannon. Similar examples can be seen here GLO-531670 WMID-8748EC and LANCUM-B87E37

Spade Iron probably of medieval to post medieval date The Spade iron is of U-shaped form and is near-complete, missing one securing lug and part of the blade (with a length of 274mm, a thickness of 7mm and a weight of 579.9g). The spade iron was secured to the wooden spade with a groove, now damaged running on the interior of the iron and by the inward-facing lugs (22mm long) at the apex (where the spade has a width of 174mm). A complete wrought iron key of Post Medieval date. The bow is kidney shaped, made from a plano-convex sectioned iron strip welded onto the stem. The stem is cylindrical with a hollow end to the stem. The bit is rectangular in shape, with two clefts in the outside edge and one in the inside edge. This key fitted a substantial lock, such as for a gate or bar.

Iron stirrup of uncertain date, probably post medieval The Iron stirrup appears to be hand-forged from a circular-sectioned rod (of 8mm dimeter) and is complete (149mm high and weighing 118.8g). The base of the stirrup has been hammer-forged into a flat strip (87mm long, 22.0mm wide and 4mm thick). The loop for the foot is D-shaped (with internal dimensions of 92mm wide and 84mm high) and is defined at its apex by three twists of the iron rod. A late medieval to post-medieval copper-alloy knife handle, probably of 16th-century date or slightly earlier. The knife is of scale-tang type, with two copper-alloy scale plates riveted to the integral iron tang. The iron blade of the knife has broken towards its start. No shoulder plate is present between the tang and blade. The handle was attached by three copper-alloy rivets spaced equally along its median length. The gun is cast in iron, with an overall length (muzzle to cascabel button) of 2.8m. The first reinforce bears the raised inscription: ALIT LIBERT And the 2nd reinforce the raised legend: RAMUS AU CREUSOT LAN.2. The left trunnion is incised P over 2486 for the weight; the right trunnion was corroded, but appeared to bear a founders mark or a number. The striking face, which is slightly rounded and burred, is rectangular and is balanced by a sub-rectangular cross-pane, which is also slightly burred. Fragment of a probable iron axe, with an oval eye set within a notably wide expansion. Half of the eye, the poll and the end of the blade are missing. The front face of the surviving part of the blade is straight, while the rear, although initially straight, begins to curve back, presumably to form a wide cutting edge. Unfortunately, the loss of the front of the blade prevents confirmation of this suggestion.
