Large unpatinated scraper made on black chalk flint, no traces of cortex remain. The scraper is irregular in form with two convex scraping areas, between which is an area of ventral retouch. The scraping edge retouch in both areas is marginal. The flafe on which the scraper is made was struck using a hard-hammer, the piece having a highly pronounced bulb of percussion.

Neolithic or Early Bronze Age flint scraper
The scraper is made on a flake from a polished flint axe made during the Neolithic. The dorsal surface has been retouched along the distal end to form the scraper edge. One side has suffered more recent damage and a recent flake has been lost from the ventral surface. Hard-hammer percussion removed the flake. One of the facets near the distal end has been polished suggesting the removal from a Neolithic flint axe. The flint is non-cortical and has patinated yellow-brown.

Prehistoric flint scraper, probably of Neolithic date
The scraper appears to be incomplete, missing one side and would have broken in antiquity (with a length of 49.1mm, a surviving width of 34.7mm, a thickness of 14.1mm and a weight of 24.1g). The retouch is present on all of the presumed original edge, up to the striking platform. The flint is non-cortical and unpatinated, mid-grey.
