A cast copper alloy vessel fragment of Medieval or Post Medieval date. The fragment comprises the foot of a potleg, likely for a cooking vessel (74.5mm long, 27.9mm wide at the bottom of the foot, 33.7mm wide at the break, 15.1mm max depth). The potleg is sub-trapezoidal in section, reaching its widest point at the break and tapers gradually to the foot. Much of one surface is covered in iron corrosion product suggesting iron was present in the deposition environment. The metal is a mottled green patina and weighs 152.28g. A fragmentary cast copper alloy vessel handle from a pot or skillet, likely of Post Medieval date. The handle is cylindrical, circular in plan and measures 98.7mm in length. The handle is thickest at the end with a max diameter of 19.1mm. The end of the handle is smooth and flat with no evidence of percussion marks. Rivets preserve on each terminal lobe (with an overall depth of 4.8mm). The central lobe is perforated by a hole with an internal diameter of 3.8mm and external diameter of 6.7mm. A near complete sheet copper alloy strap end of Medieval date (c.AD 1350-1500). The single sheet is tongue-shaped in plan with a single central rivet on the wider end (resulting in a depth of 3.1mm). The plate measures 10.1mm at the wide end and is slightly bent with an overall distorted length of 31.7mm and 0.6mm thick. A near-complete cast copper alloy sheet plate from a composite strap end of Medieval date (c.AD 1230-1450). The plate is tongue-shaped (0.5mm thick), tapering from the wide end (16.5mm wide) with two rivet holes (missing the rivets) to the narrower curved end (c.9.5mm wide). The finger ring comprises of a sub-oval signet (14.6mm long x 11.8mm wide x 1.5mm thick) and portions of the band (9mm long and 3.1mm wide at the break; and 5.9mm long and 4mm wide at the break). The signet appears to be engraved with monogram style letters on the face but cannot be determined due to old damage. A cast lead biconical spindle whorl of medieval date (c. 1200-1500 AD). The object is biconical in shape with a wide central perforation (10.6mm diameter). Both sides are decorated with a design of raised, radiating ribs with pellets between each rib. The number of pellets varies- one side has only single (or no) pellets between the ribs, while the other has one, two, or three pellets between each rib. The metal has white patina with patches of grey metallic lead showing through in places.

The maximum width for a strap through the base would have been 19.2mm. No.1260 (pg 233-234, fig. 149) is a similar example in Egan and Pritchard (2002).
