A silver Roman 'Legionary' denarius of Mark Antony (BC 42-30) dating to 32-31 BC (Reece Period 1).  The obverse is very worn but the outline of a boat can be discerned although the legend is illegible. The reverse legend is also illegible but the central image of the aquila standard and one other standard are visible.  These coins were struck by Mark Antony between 32-31 BC in travelling mints for use by his fleets in the lead up to the Battle of Actium. A complete silver Roman Republican denarius serratus, dating to the period 118BC (Reece period 1). This coin is of a type minted in Narbo. Damage to the obverse legend means the full set of moneyers is not known, but would have included: L Licinius Crassus and Cn, Domitius Ahenobarbus. Obverse: Helmeted head of Roma right. Reverse: Naked warrior in biga right holding shield, carnyx and reins in left hand, hurling spear with right hand.
