Incomplete copper alloy socketed axehead of probable Late Bronze Age date, c. 1300-700 BC.
The artefact is the blade of the axe and consists of a broadly curved cutting edge with sides that flare out to reveal a hollow interior cavity. The artefact is sub-trapezoidal in plan. The broken edges are transverse to the cutting edge and are uneven, but all edges are abraded and chipped. The artefact has a powdery green patina.

Complete copper alloy axehead of probable Bronze Age date, possibly early Bronze conforming to Needham's Class 2D Halberton type, c. BC 2350-1601.
The axehead has a trapezoidal shape with straight sides, a broad butt, and very minimal blade tip expansion. The cutting edge is largely in tact and free from knicks and breaks. it has a lenticular, narrow profile. The patina is powdery, pale green with some surface pitting.
Due to the lack of blade tip expansion and the near rectangular shape, this broadly conforms to Needham's Class 2D Halberton type which date from the Early Bro…

An incomplete Middle Bronze Age copper alloy socketed spear-head, probably dating 1500-1150 BC. The blade has flattened edges, a broken tip, chipped edges and is very worn. On either side of the shaft are the stubs to two sideloops. Complete copper alloy Bronze Age unlooped early/primary flanged palstave axehead of Needham's Period 4 Class 5E type (Clifton), c. 1750-1500 BC. The body is sub-triangular in plan with a curved butt and slightly curved body with stop ridge approximately halfway up the body. In profile, the body angle is oval. The cutting edge expands into a convex fantail shape, with in tact curved tips. The object has a dark brown patina with surface abrasion and some pitting. The cutting edge is nicked and chipped, but is in otherwise good condition.

Complete copper alloy flat axe of Early Bronze Age date (c. 2200-1900 BC), probably consistent with metalworking stage II corresponding to Needham's (1996) Period 2 (c. 2350-2050 BC).
Broadly sub-triangular in plan with a broad, rounded crescent shaped cutting edge ( width: 58.77mm). The axe tapers towards the butt, terminating with a width of 32.02mm and is broken unevenly at its terminal end. Both faces are broadly flat and smooth, with a grey/green patina. An incomplete copper alloy (bronze) probable socketed axehead or chisel fragment, of Late Bronze Age dating (c. 950 BC to c. 750 BC). The expanded blade has a curved convex (crescent shaped) cutting edge which is incomplete. The sides do not appear to be faceted and no ribs are present on either the front or back of the axehead fragment. The blade shows signs of wear to the edge, suggesting that this miniature axehead was a tool and not a small votive offering.
The patina is a light brownish green, with an uneven slightly pitted surface.

The flat axe is broadly sub rectangular in shape with an incomplete rounded shaped blade. In profile it is broadly lentoid, with tapering edges. The axehead is broken, with the butt end missing. Discovery: Found on 28th July 2016 within a small area (between 4 and 10 inches depth) on cultivated stubble while metal detecting
The hoard consists of 6 complete copper alloy rings, 1 incomplete copper alloy ring, 5 copper alloy ring fragments, a circular disc and lug object and 2 sherds of pottery that are thought to date to the Late Bronze Age. A gold lock-ring and three small fragments of gold. The lock-ring is decorated with a series of incised concentric lines. One edge of the lock-ring is broken in a ragged edge, the other follows a neat line that may represent the original edge or a cut mark. A copper alloy flanged axehead of Early Middle Bronze Age date of later short-flanged axe of Type Ulcrome. The axehead dates to c. Acton Park II / Taunton phase of early MBA which corresponds to Needham typology date is c. 1600-1300 BC.
The blade of the palstave is a splayed/crescent-shaped, with convex expanding sides, and a convex cutting edge, which is damaged. A copper-alloy finger ring of Bronze Age date, 1500-1150 BC.
The finger ring is made from a coiled rod of sub-square section, with approximately two coils remaining. One end is 'finished', but the other had a sharp break, indicating that at least one coil is lost.

A near-complete barbed and tanged arrowhead of late Neolithic to early Bronze Age date, 2400 BC-1000 BC,
The object is triangular in plan with two notches removed from one edge to create the rectangular barbs and tang, although one barb has broken off. Invasive, scaled retouch at a low angle present on both faces of the object, with low angle parallel retouch along one edge. The flint is a dark grey in colour with some milky grey nodules.
