A halfgroat of Edward III (1327-1377), series E, based on the initial mark, minted in London between 1353-1355/6. The coin has an uneven surface tone, with some areas appearing to have had tarnishing prevented or removed.
Obverse:- Crowned bust of Edward III facing forwards, legend around '[+]EDWARDV[S REX ANGL Z FRANCI]'
Reverse:- A long cross with three pellets in each crutch, dissecting twon concentric legends into quarters. Legends 'CIVI/TAS/LON/DON' in the outer ring and +POS/VI DEV/ADIVT/O[R MEV]' in the inner.
