An incomplete copper alloy object, possibly a needle or pin, dating to the medieval period onwards (c.AD 1400-1700). The object is comprised of a lozenge-shaped head with circular perforation in the centre to create an eye. Integral to the eye is a circular-sectioned shaft that suddenly thins and terminates in a worn break. The shaft has a slight curve to it. The object is undecorated and has a dark brown patina. Treasure case 2023 T102 Description:  A mostly complete gold pendant with large garnet setting, dating to the Early Medieval period (c.AD 600-700). The object comprises of an oval shaped gold pendant, within which is a large dark coloured stone. The stone is domed and is surrounded be a shallow gold setting that just borders the reverse and outer edge. A complete cast copper-alloy seal matrix of post-medieval date (c.AD 1200-1400). The body of the matrix is in the shape of a pointed oval (vesica). The legend that runs around the circumference of the face reads ‘+SIG:RICARD W PRESTON’ which is flanked by beads on both sides. The central motif is of a lion rampant, facing left. The reverse features and integral single loop at the top of the seal, from which a ridge projects that tapers to the bottom point. An incomplete copper alloy gilt dress hook dating to the post medieval period (c.AD 1500-1600). See Read (2008) Class D, Type 6 Trefoil. The object is formed of three hollow domes, one of which is incomplete. The domes are decorated with twisted filigree wire - one loop around the edge and three circles on each dome with a smaller circle within and a knop in the centre.
