The object consists of one terminal only; it is a lozenge-shaped loop with a knop projecting from three of the corners. A complete copper alloy annular brooch dating to the medieval period (c.AD 1200-1350). The brooch is circular and flat. The frame is interrupted by a constriction around which is a secured pin. The pin is straight with a pointed end and rest on the frame at the opposite end. The surface is worn but may be decorated with raised lines and pellets. It has a powdery light green patina. Dimensions: Diameter 21mm; thickness 2.2mm; weight 4.12g Similar annular brooches are illustrated in Egan and Pritchard (1991: 249) which were discovered from excavated contexts dating from AD 1230-1350.
