An incomplete lead alloy kosher seal dating to the post medieval to modern period (c.AD 1800-1900). The seal is sub-circular in plan and has a slot running through it that accommodated a cord for attachment. One face has a raised Star of David (open interlocked equilateral triangles forming a six pointed star). The other face has raised numerals: 125. The seal may be from meat or some other goods where similar restrictions apply, and denotes that the merchandise is kosher. The number probably relates to the manufacturer/butcher. Treasure Number: 2017T509 Description: Silver finger-ring in the form of a snake wrapped round on itself. The hoop is D-shaped in section and plain in the middle section. It narrows at one terminal to form the tail of the snake. The tail section is lightly waved and decorated on the outer surface to appear as snakeskin. The head end is similarly decorated, widening to a thicker terminal in the form of a lozenge-shaped, head with oval eyes at the side and a segmented design on the flat upper surface of the head.
