A complete Roman copper alloy finger ring with a blue glass intaglio dating from c.AD 150-350. The ring has rounded a D-shaped band that terminates with a pair of lateral projections at either side of the bezel. The band has a diameter of 20mm. Faint filing marks are visible on the band. The bezel (9.5mm in diameter) is flat and circular and holds in the centre a damaged blue glass intaglio of a carved human face. A silver clasped hands finger ring. Treasure Case: 2019 T817. Description: A complete post medieval, silver 'fede' finger ring. The bezel depicts two hands clasped together, the details of the fingers are picked out with shallow incised lines. Flanking the hands on both sides are rectangular shaped cuffs. The cuffs are decorated with incised traverse lines, one at the top and two lines at the bottom. The object shows a degree of verdigris indicating a substantial amount of copper present within the silver. The ring is probably of a second century date, using similar examples on the database. The outer face of the hoop is decorated with a single incised flower and two groups of incised linear decoration. The internal surface of the hoop is undecorated. A complete 'posy' (or poem) finger ring of post-medieval date. The ring is circular in plan with a D-shaped cross section and is formed from a strip of copper alloy with the seam being clearly visible. On the inside hoop is an inscription in a cursive script reading 'I AM VENS'. There is no visible decoration on the outer hoop. A copper alloy finger ring in the form of a snake dating to the Roman period. The hoop is oval with a D-shaped cross-section. The bezel expands from the shoulders and is decorated with two deep grooves, one above the other, representing the coils of the snake's body. Copper-alloy finger-ring, probably Roman to early Medieval in date. It consists of a strip of metal which is wound round to create a spiral, only a quarter of which overlaps. The spiral is loose and some of the ring may be missing. The object is worn leaving a mid green to greyish patina. On the flat side of one terminal is a small circular depression. Other examples of spiral rings date from the Iron Age to Medieval periods.

An incomplete cast copper alloy finger ring dating to the Roman period. The object is corresponding to Henig's type XII. One side of the incomplete bezel is present which would have surrounded a gem. The surround of the bezel edge is gilded. The shoulder of the object is D-shaped in cross-section and tapers forming the hoop. Each side of the finger ring terminates with a break. The hoop object has a mid-grey patina.

Copper alloy finger ring, Roman in date (AD200-410). The hoop of the ring is incomplete but would have been roughly circular. On one shoulder of the hoop is the remains of applied decoration. The raised bezel is sub circular and inset with dark red enamel that survives in patches. The bezel has a central indented and bordered spot which also would have contained enamel or a metal fitting. The object is in fair condition and has a light green patina.

Roman silver finger ring of semi-circular section and oval profile which swells to a wide flattened bezel, set with an ovoid orange-red carnelian intaglio flush with the bezel; this is engraved with a bird standing left holding a morsel of food in its beak. Scientific examination shows that the ring appears to be hollow but may originally have had a copper core plated thickly with silver which explains its mostly dull grey appearance.

Silver finger ring with carnelian intaglio. Guiraud Type 2c/d dating from the 1st century to the 1st half of the 3rd century AD. The hoop is oval and flares gently to an expanded bezel set with an oval intaglio. The intaglio is best viewed with its long axis running side to side. It has some slight damage on the right-hand side which may obscure some of the design, but is engraved with an eagle standing left, with an olive branch on the left.

Cast copper alloy Roman finger ring dating to the 2/3rd centuries AD. It has a raised circular bezel 5mm in diameter and decoration on the shoulders. This is in the form of raised rectangles with incised lines in the middle, 2 on each side of the bezel. The shoulder is slightly angular and after the decoration the width of the ring decreases. It is a little out of shape at the very bottom, it has bent to almost form a point.
