A cast copper-alloy Romano-british Trumpet brooch, the midpoint of the bow decorated with three flanges, interspersed with two series of projecting, dull spines, arranged in an encircling radial pattern around the core of the bow. Hattatt's suggested dating for examples similar to this (1982, pg 107, ex. 80) is of the first half of the second century (AD 100-150). The hinge and substantial amounts of the catchplate survive, but the pin is lost. Iron oxide staining at the head end indicates the former presence of an iron pin.
