The object is a fragment with worn edges on each side and is decorated on both faces. The front face is decorated with raised concentric circles focused around a rivet hole that held a now missing boss. The object comprises of an oval shaped gold pendant, within which is a large dark coloured stone. Thomas Class A, Type 5. The object is composed of a copper alloy body that is sub-rectangular in shape with a beaded edge. A complete early medieval gold filigree disc pendant. The pendant comprises a circular sheet of gold with a plain wire edging. A complete silver hooked tag of early medieval date. The hooked tag comprises a flat, circular plate with a single, circular perforation in the centre of the upper edge, and an integral hook protruding from the centre of the lower edge. The hook curves backwards underneath the tag, and is sharp and complete. The upper surface of the plate is incised with a cruciform motif, with small areas of niello inlay preserved, particularly at the edge nearest the hook.
