Fragment of pottery. It has a dark grey, reduced fabric with a sandy temper and looks hand-made. It is sub-rectangular measuring 43mm x 27mm. It has some sort of light red material on surface, perhaps as decoration.
Kevin Leahy saw a photograph of this and said it looked to be Early Medieval but it does 'lack the usual sparkly inclusions' and it is harder to judge from a photograph.

Object type: BOOK FITTING
Broad period: EARLY MEDIEVAL
County: Cheshire East
Workflow stage: Awaiting validation
Cast copper alloy book clasp (or possibly strap end) from the Medieval period. It has been cast in one and is not complete. Both ends have broken. The bottom (round) end has a small extension which would have had an hook on the end. The top end would have just continued on to a straight end. The book clasp would have fitted onto the edge of the cover of a book. For this the clasp is forked from half way down. The bottom end (which is solid) has a circular perforation around which, on one face, is a flower, using the hole as the central part of the flower.

Anglo Saxon zoomorphic strap end which dates to around the ninth century. This is most likely to be a Thomas Class A, Type 2. Object type: FINGER RING
Broad period: EARLY MEDIEVAL
County: Doncaster
Workflow stage: Awaiting validation
Copper alloy finger ring probably from the early Medieval period.
It has a lozengiform cross-section and tapering ends which overlap. The patina is dark brown and the surface is a little pitted.
Finger-rings of similar size and shape, but with oval or circular cross-sections, have been recorded from Thetford (A. Goodall in Rogerson and Dallas 1984, fig. 110, 17-21), two (nos. 17 and 20) from 10th- or 11th-century contexts. Finger-rings with lozenge-shaped cross-sections are less well understood, and some at least may be quite modern in date

Fragment of an Anglo-Saxon strap end in a zoomorphic style dating to the 9th century AD.
The lower end of strap end is all that remains. It is roughly triangular in plan. The tip of the strap end is characteristically decorated with the ‘plastic’ animal head terminal, which ends in a rounded tip. The eys and possible nose are the only facial features that are visible on this head. Above thehead is the start of the main body of the strp end. It appears to have 2 drop-shaped panels with some etched lines inside. Unfortunately this is where it has broken and no more of the design …

Copper alloy styca from the Early Medieval period.
It appears to be a derivative issue as it is mis-shapen and of poor metal. It is almost square shaped and most of the legend is not on the coin. These generally date to the mid-ninth century and have blundered obverse/reverse legends.
This is possibly a derivative issue copying the coins of Redwulf (c. 844)

Object type: DRESS HOOK
Broad period: EARLY MEDIEVAL
County: Central Bedfordshire
Workflow stage: Awaiting validation
Fragment of a copper alloy Early Medieval hooked tag.
The main body is sub-circular with a rectangular extension at two opposing ends. These extensions have both broken but one would have been the hook, the other a loop. The front face is decorated with 4 ring and dot motifs, the back is plain. The edges have vertical grooves running from front to back.
The exact date range of this category of artefact is, at present, uncertain, although excavated evidence suggests they span the period of the 9th to 11th centuries AD (see, for example, M. Biddle; 1990; pp. 549-552).
