An incomplete cast copper alloy dress hook of early Post-Medieval date, c. AD 1500 - 1700 of Read's Class E Type 3
The dress hook is circular with a rectangular attachment loop. The body of the dress hook has a central equal-armed cross with a raised central pellet within a linear circle. Each quarter has three circular apertures. The edge of the linear circle has a beaded and engrailed edge. The hook at the base is missing due to old breaks. It has a green patina.

A cast copper-alloy medieval hooked mount dating to c. AD 1200-1300
A rectangular mount with separate rivets (which have not survived). The mount is triangular in cross-section with a transverse ridge and rounded ends with elongated round knops. The hook has broken off due to an old break. There are two circular rivet holes. The reverse is flat. Traces of gilding on the convex side. The object has been bent, probably as the result of the plough.

A cast copper-alloy medieval bar mount, possibly from a casket or similar, dating to c. AD 1200-1400
Rectangular bar with elongated terminal knops, triangular in cross-section.The knops are rectilinear and narrower than the bar, measuring 4.34 mm in width. The bar has a central ridge demarked by a shallow groove and chamfered sides. At each end of the bar is a circular hole with a transverse groove on the inside edge. Only one of the separate round-headed rivets has survived. The convex side has traces of gilding.

A cast copper-alloy medieval buckle plate dating to c. AD 1150-1450.
The plate is flat and rectangular with a central semi-circular notch at one short end. Originally it was attached to the belt through five rounded-headed rivets but only four have survived, positioned at each corner and one in the centre. The plate has traces of gilding on one side.

A complete cast copper-alloy dodecahedron dating to the Roman period (c. AD 43-410). Type 1b.
This object was discovered during a controlled archaeological investigation by a local History and Archaeology Group and Allen Archaeology and was recovered from a pit described by the excavators as a quarry infilled with debris as a midden. Other finds include a box-flue tile fragment, grey-ware pottery, roof tile debris and animal teeth. The dress fastener is sub-oval with a rectangular loop. Its hook is missing due to old break. It is cast in one-piece with moulded relief and openwork, decorated with a central equal-armed cross with a central pellet worn flat, within a linear circle and beaded and engrailed edge. The reverse is flat.
The entire object measures 22.88 mm in length, 15.88 mm in width, maximum of 1.27 mm thickness, and 1.60g in weight

The dress fastener is lozenge shaped with a trapezoidal loop and a broken curved hook. It is cast in one-piece with moulded relief and openwork, decorated with an engrailed border around a fleur-de-lis in openwork. The reverse is flat.
The entire object measures 32.14 mm in length, 15.39 mm in width, maximum of 1.33 mm thickness, and 1.67g in weight

A cast copper-alloy Roman hairpin dating to c.AD 100-200.
The pin has a flattened spherical head decorated with three grooves at the apex, forming a loose trianglular motif. The shaft is decorated with two circumferiential bands immediately below the pin head, followed by a space and three further bands, the remaining tapering shaft is undecorated and appears complete. The pin is bent below the three decorative bands, almost at 90 degrees, probably as the result of plough damage.

An incomplete copper-alloy Roman Colchester derivative hinged bow brooch dating to c.AD 43-120.
Missing its catchplate and pin due to old breaks. The wings are cylindrical in form folded to encase the separately cast copper-alloy axis bar, with a central rectangular slot through which the now missing pin would have hinged. The wings have patches of dirt, and any decoration appears to have been worn away. The bow is D-shaped in section with flat back and rounded front face, tapering towards the broken pointed foot.
