A Roman zoomorphic brooch depicting a dog pouncing on a hare. The front legs of the dog are landed on the hares back and the dogs mouth grasps it by the neck. This object represents a hunting scene. There is evidence of white metal coating on the surface. The remains of two copper alloy rivets are visible on the reverse suggesting use as either a mount or a brooch.

Body and lower neck fragment of an anglo-saxon cremation urn. Three stamped squares each made up by a four by four grid (i.e. 16 smaller squares) impressed into the clay in a diamond pattern. Horizontal incised line above the squares marks the lower part of the rim which itself is decorated by diagonally incised lines

A nearly-complete Roman copper alloy lock bolt. The lock is rectangular in plan and in cross-section with an openwork body. The openwork area comprises vertical and diagonal bars. At one end is a long but incomplete shank, and at the other a narrowed and offset ingegral tab. Three similar lock bolts were discovered at Vindolanda in contexts dating between AD 120 and 180 (Birley, 1997, p26).

Bow, catchplate and foot from a Hod Hill brooch. Incised horizontal dashes form a vertical line running up the otherwise undecorated foot of the brooch. The bow has three raised vertical ribs enclosed by a raised beaded border on either side. The central rib in this group is decorated with incised horizontal lines. The pin is missing and the catchplate has a circular perforation in the centre. The foot terminal is bulbous.

A Viking/Anglo-Scandinavian copper-alloy dagger guard decorated in Urnes style. The guard is sub-rectangular in plan with rounded ends and gently curved long-sides. The underside contains a hollow rectangular slot, and a narrow rectangular opening is located in the centre. The top of the guard is decorated with a pair of D-shaped incised lines at either side of the opening. The side of the guard is decorated with a simplified or blundered version of whip interlace, with a well executed animal head at either end facing outwards.

Upper half of a copper-alloy Roman nail cleaner of Spool-necked Type. Oval body with curved 'handle' like attachment loop. The lower terminal which would have contained the cleaning pick is lost. There appears to have been a celtic-style decoration, possibly tinned, on both sides of the oval body, however it is too worn to describe the decoration in detail.

Early medieval lead strap-end. The strap end is rendered in the Winchester style. Although this decoration is fairly crude in execution and eccentric in detail, it depicts a fairly standard inhabited plant-scroll design featuring a pair of confronted lizard-like creatures with rounded heads (and possibly tails) at the top, each perched on the branches of a central plant which sprouts from an unusual calyx or bulb at the bottom. Lead papal bulla of Innocent VI (1352-62AD). The obverse depicts St Peter and St Paul each within a pelleted border facing inwards. The beard on St Paul has been created using incised and raised lines, while the beard on St Peter has been created by using pellet decoration. The word 'SPASPE' (St Paul, St Peter) lies over the portraits. The reverse is inscribed INNO/CETIVS/PP VI. There is a near identical example in the City and County Museum, Lincoln (LCNCC: 2182.25).

Complete bronze diamond shaped seal box with iron pin through hinge. Four holes drilled through base. The lid has a centred circular ridge on the face which would have likely been filled with enamel, as with the area outside the circle within the diamond shape, however none survives. The perimeter ridge of the lid is decorated with incised lines.

Large and elaborate cosmetic grinder broken into two fragments. Concave on underside for containing and grinding cosmetics. Terminals are slightly different ~ one has four bulbous projects, on the left/right/bottom and horizontal end. The other terminal has only three bulbous projections on the left, right, and horizontal end. There are two loops for attachement as a pendant, on the centre of the back, and the other on the side. The back ridge is ribbed.

Medieval buckle, D-shaped frame with rectangular plate. The frame has a copper alloy roller and offset pin. The plate is a folded sheet which terminates on the reverse a quarter of the way along the object, just after the first of the two rivet holes (rivets missing). Three other rivets are in situ at the end of the plate. Evidence of gilding on surface. There is a similarly proportioned buckle, but without a roller, from BIG82 (Billingsgate Lorry Park, Lower Thames Street) found in a context dated to between c.1230 and c. 1260 AD (Egan and Pritchard 1991, no. 304).

Elaborate and extremely well preserved medieval buckle. Oval frame with trefoil lip, notch for pin, pin missing. The frame is decorated with two lines of opposing triangles. Folded sheet plate attached to a narrowed frame bar. The plate has three rivets sill in situ which all have bulbous terminals. Double line of opposed punched triangles follow the perimeter of the plate.
