Roman copper alloy brooch of Colchester derivative Polden Hill (flat wing ends type), cf. Mackreth 2011, 4.l. pg. 74, Plate 48. It is 51mm long, 18mm wide and 11mm deep. The object is in fair condition with a brown patina and weighs 8.83grams. The brooch has short hollow wings with a semi-circular hole to hold a spring bar. Part of the spring mechanism sits above the centre of the wings. It has a long sub-rectangular sectioned bow. Roman copper alloy plain hinged bow brooch, 26mm long, 22mm wide and 7mm deep. The object is in fair condition with a brown patina and weighs 2.98grams. The brooch has circular sectioned solid wings which sit above the bow at an angle and form a central rectangualr void, presumambly where the hinge fitted. The bow is triangular in section and is slightly curved. There is no sign of decoration on the brooch and no catchplate or pin present.

Roman copper alloy disc brooch, 22mm in diameter and 2mm thick (6mm at catchplate). The object is in fair condition with a green/brown patina and weighs 3.64grams. The brooch is decorated with an outer raised border with a further inner border, 2mm in from the edge. This is filled with what is now red enamel. Inside this are four raised semi-circles which are arranged so they form a cross motif, two are filled with red enamel and one with blue, the last is empty but presumably was originally blue as well. Medieval? copper alloy object, 17mm long, 14mm wide and 4mm thick. The object is in poor condition with a green patina and weighs 3.27grams. It has a semi-circular form and has a rounded upper surface with a flat underside. It has stamped circles over most of its surface and its underside has two large circular depressions and one small one. The small one corresponds to one on its upper surface and there is also one large depression which may correspond to one of those on the underside? The object may be part of a strap end or buckle??

Medieval? copper alloy object, 23mm long, 13mm wide and 1mm thick. the object is in fair condition with a dark brown patina and weighs 1.34grams. The object is sub triangular in form and has a ridge along its longest straight edge where something has snapped off. Its surface is decorated with a line of six incised ring and dot motifs running its length with a further one on each side near the wide edge. It has a narrower straight edge at its other end which also appears to be detacthed from something. It could be a buckle plate or a book fitting?

Early Medieval, Anglo-Scandinavian copper alloy stirrup strap mount fragment, 27mm long, 12mm wide and 8mm thick. The object is in poor condition with a brown patina and weighs 6.50grams. The object represents the base of a mount and consists of a rounded flange protruding at right angles from the base. There are two circular fixing holes, 3mm in diameter, in the main rectangular surface. There is no sign of any decoration.

Medieval, copper alloy key handle, 33mm long, 23mm wide and 7mm thick. The object is in fair condition with a brown patina and weighs 2.72grams. The key is sub circular in section and begins with a small section of shaft, 4mm long, decorated with two horizontal incised lines. The key then forms a hollow lozenge shape with protuding knops, C.2mm wide, at each side. There is a sub spherical collar below this with an incised lower border before the key continues as a single shaft. It has snapped off here and at its furthest end.

Post Medieval, copper alloy trade weight? 14mm in diameter and 3mm thick. The weight is in good condition with a green patina and a weight of 2.59grams. The weight is marked with the ewer of the London founders company who issued the weights and has what appears to be a crown minus the monarchs initial? The shape of the weight and the marks fit with the smaller ones issued between 1590 and 1826, but without an initial its not datable.
