A complete medieval copper alloy annular brooch, dating to c. AD 1200-1400. The frame is circular in plan and oval in section, there is no constriction for the pin. The pin remain and is bent around the frame. The brooch is undecorated. Diameter: 22.6 mm Thickness: 1.9 mm Weight: 2.2 g Reference: Egan and Pritchard (1991: 249) no. 1307.

An incomplete Early Medieval copper-alloy small long brooch, dating to c.AD 450-550. Most of the head, one side knop and the upper bow remain. The pin side knops and lower bow are missing. The rectangular head plate is almost complete, fragments of its top edge are missing, a complete flat circular knop projects from it right side, a fragment of this remains on its left, it is uncertain whether the top edge had any decoration. A Roman copper-alloy T-shaped brooch, dating to AD 50 - 150. Part of the pin and lower bow are missing. The wings are thin and cylindrical, they house the spring pin which has nine springs, four on one side, five on the other. The ends of the wings are decorated on the front face with a short incised vertical line. The bow is tapering with a pointed oval cross section. An incomplete Roman copper-alloy Colchester derivative, Polden Hill brooch, dating to AD 75 -150. The wings and most of the bow remain, the spring pin, lower bow and catchplate are missing. Roman ? silver gilt ring fragment, 11mm long, 8mm wide and 3mm thick with a weight of 1.24g. The object comprises about half the bezel of a signet type ring. It is triangular in form and D shaped in cross section. Its wide broken end has a curved recess to take an intaglio and the upper surface is decorated on each edge with a wide concave band which is gilded and inside this is a narrow incised line. These converge as the object narrows to its loop. This is probably matches by a similar one around the edge of the bezel. The object is very worn.

The object is rectangular in form and cross section and has a cruciform central hole and cut away corners. Between the edge of the cruciform hole the outer edge there are rectangular recesses on one surface of three sides which would have accommodated small strap fittings, see NCL-CCD0F4.

Its upper half has a spilt end to house the strap and this is damaged. Below that the object has slightly rounded sides and it then tapers in width and becomes thicker, terminating in a possible animal head terminal? this is now extremely worn. The object is probably a Thomas class B1 or B2.

Post medieval lead cloth seal. 14mm in length, 12mm wide and 3mm thick with a weight of 1.91grams. The seal is circular and formed of two discs now incomplete which would have been joined by a short rectangular strip. Obverse inscription reads I?-/160-/ C N. This could be a match for the seal of Thomas Lane (TL) 1603 or Joshua Culey (IC) , 1606 Mayors of Norwich. Reverse image may be of a lion or a portculis? Egan, G. Provenanced Leaden cloth seals UCL Thesis 1987 p.177-8.
