A small, copper alloy model of a quadruped with a long tail, possibly a lioness, leopard or similar. It is missing most of its very thin legs. The body is curled around, the head being inside this curl, facing semi-sideways, with a posisble short mane marked on the back. The waist is narrow and the haunches are well defined. The long tail with a tail tuft is curled over its back, and back on itself. A complete copper alloy terret ring. It is oval in shape with a sub-square drop ring attached. The ring is teardrop shaped in section with a ridge along the external diameter. It is of Lewis type 19, a continental influenced or imported terret of drop bar type. Similar examples on the database include ESS-CEA70D and LIN-159D68. An almost complete copper alloy brooch of headstud type. The bow has a moulded stud on the curve at the top. The short wings extend either side of the head, and above these the plate on which the missing spring and pin would have mounted is present, decorated with three horizontal lines. The bow ends with a circular foot. The catch plate is present but incomplete. The cylindrical mount for the spring is still on the reverse but is incomplete. A copper alloy Roman Prestatyn type brooch. The bow is wider at the top, narrowing to a rounded tip. It is divided into two vertical cells with a cast in line, these may have been enamelled. Behind the lower half of the bow there are two extentions wider than the brooch but less deep. The bow is slightly hollow. A lead alloy spindle whorl or weight. It is flat on both faces, with rounded edges, D shaped in section. There is no apparent decoration. The central perforation is approximately 10mm in diameter. A number of similar examples have been recorded by the Berkshire FLO, one of which is BERK-4D6A2C. These are difficult to date without other evidence, and are considered by some to be Roman when in this form, this artefact is from an area of known Roman activity Dimensions: It is 28mm in diameter and 7mm thick, the central hole is 10mm diameter and it weighs 29.28g

An enamelled copper alloy plate brooch. It is circular, a raised border on the outer circumference and approximately halfway along the diameter forms a section, inside which cells for enamel are formed by alternate high and low sections. On the raised parts there are traces of a blue enamel. The central section of the brooch would have been divided into six triangular sections, like wheel spokes, which would have also have been enamelled. Three of these remain. A probable scoop for cosmetic or toilet use. The material is uncertain but is probably lead alloy. It is formed of a short remnant of the shaft, which is triangular in section, the back being flat and the front having a ridge down the centre. It terminates in a wider, flattened circular section which is half the thickness of the shaft, and would scoop a small amount of power or similar. Like SWYOR-BFF380, there is not enough diagnostic material remaining to date but it may be Roman in period. Dimensions: It is 30mm long and the scoop is 8.5mm wide, it weighs 4.19g

A copper alloy door knob type spear butt of the Roman or early Medieval period, circa 200-300 AD or 500 to 600AD. The object comprises a hollow shaft, tapering outwards slightly at the open end, with two concentric grooves around the neck. This then expands where it joins the 'door knob' terminal, at which point there is a moulded groove around the neck. The terminal is bulbous and also hollow and it has a rounded base.
