A complete Roman silver plated radiate of Valerian II (AD 256-258), dating to AD 256-258, Reece Period 12. Description: This radiate has a copper alloy core and has been plated silver. It is the IOVI CRESCENTI reverse type. Obverse:  Radiate, draped, and cuirassed bust right, the inscription reads VALERIANVS CAES. A heavily abraded copper-alloy Roman sestertius of Gordian III (AD 238-244), dating to the period AD 241-244 (Reece period 12). Probably IOVI STATOR, S C or IOVI STATORI, S C reverse type, depicting Jupiter standing front, head right, holding long sceptre and thunderbolt. Mint of Rome. Cf. RIC IV.3, p. 48, nos. 298a, 299a passim. This is probably a light sestertius rather than an as, which has a much smaller module. Measurements: 27.21mm in diameter, 3.38mm thick and 10.75g in weight.
