Bent, (perhaps deliberately) copper alloy sixth century AD equal-arm brooch with a gently curving bow that has a median rib. The head-plate is semi-circular and is divided longitudinally into two cells. These cells are partially filled with garnets some parts of which have been lost, perhaps in antiquity. The rectangular foot-plate consisting of a single cell would probably have accommodated a garnet (now lost). The brooch is bent in such a way that the pin lug and catch-plate are in contact. First side: Busts of St Peter and St Paul are each within an inverted pear shaped compartment defined by pellets. On the right, St Peter's beard and hair are shown to be curly by the use of pellets. Pyramidal mount from a sword belt, with an octagonal base and architecturally balanced faces filled with cloisonné cell-work. The mount is made from gold, and the surface is decorated with sixteen pentagonal panels of two sizes, the larger rising from the base to interlock with smaller panels falling from the top of the mount. All are clearly defined by thick walls and are filled with cell-work in repeating patterns using simple cell forms. Cast copper alloy buckle pin with a plate which in the past has been known as a shield on tongue type. Length 29mm, width 11mm and 7mm thick. Loop missing. The tip of the pin curves forward very sharply at an angle of about 90 degrees to the shaft. The pin is "D" shaped in section - flat on the underside. Similar buckle pins were found at Chessell Down, Isle of Wight, Anglo Saxon cemetery during the nineteenth century. See Arnold 1982.

Cast copper alloy shoe-shaped mount. Length 19.5mm, width 10mm and 2mm thick. The front is slightly convex, flat at the back. The narrowed "waisted" sides are steeply bevelled and the integral lug at the back is broken. Consequently, it is not possible to say whether the lug was a pointed or a perforated type. The lug, situated between the narrowest part of the mount, is at an oblique angle - not in the longitudinal plane as are the types shown in Arnold 1982.

Short cylindrical ?glass bead, black in colour, with convex ends and a relatively large longitudinal perforation. It has a crack and five recently made chips around the girth. Diameter 13.8mm. The perforation is 4.4mm in diameter. Perhaps one of Brugmann's Brown beads, which she dates to her Group A1, 430-550 AD (Brugmann 2004, 74).

Cast copper alloy D shaped buckle frame (pin missing). Length 24.8mm, width 30.8mm and 5.8mm thick. The frame is D shaped in section, flat on the underside and the narrowed bar is circular in section. Midway along the bar there is a slight swelling. Around this swelling and also near the centre of the outer edge is an iron corrosion deposit. A creamy white deposit on both the front and back is probably calcium carbonate. Similar buckles were found at Chessell Down, Isle of Wight, Anglo Saxon cemetery during the nineteenth century. See Arnold 1982.

The slightly narrowed bar is oval in section and the tip of the pin, which appears to have a slight cutaway, is "fused" to the central part of the outer edge of the frame, otherwise the pin is missing.
