Henry III (1216-72), silver penny (1247-8, type 1b). The coin has not been struck centrally but is skewed towards the left side as you view the obverse. Moneyer; LIE TERCI. Mint: London. Obverse description; crowned head facing forward. The crown consists of a horizontal band with six small pellets (two above and four below) and three large pellets (above the horizontal band)that are incorporated into the circle of pellets that contains the crowned head. The hair is formed from a pair of crescent curls on either side of the head. The lower two curls on each side contain a single pellet…
