An incomplete silver denarius of Roman date, from the reign of Trajan (AD 98- AD 117). The coin would originally have been circular in plan. It is now sub-circular in plan. The obverse bears a right facing laureate bust of the emporer Trajan. It bears the legend: [IMP C] TRAIN [...] TRP II COS. The reverse bears a standing figure with eagle on globe. It bears the legend: P[AX] [ANGLIO]. The coin is heavily eroded and worn. It is a dull grey/ silver colour, with a dark patina. The coin measures: Diameter: 19.3mm; Thickness: 1.6mm. It weighs: 1.9 grams.
