A heavily worn and badly crumpled (possibly bitten) hammered silver coin the small size suggests either a threepence or groat - possibly a groat. A small area of inscription remains on the obverse ... P[E]X M possibly making this a groat Mary and Philip (1554-1558). Although given the condition of the coin the identification is very tentative.
