A silver half penny of later medieval date. The coin is most probably an early issue of Henry VI (first reign) - possibly his plain issue (1427-30) - however, it is very difficult to ascribe thetype more precisely due to the lack of diagnostic features (initial marks, stops). The identification is based on the form of crown where the lis, side fluers and ornaments conjoin to give the impression of a band of annulets

Silver halfgroat of Henry VI (1422-1461), this is a mule (differing obverse to reverse) struck at the mint in Calais. The obverse is of the annulet issue 1422-1427 (North 1429) whereas the reverse is of the rossette mascule 1427-1430 (North 1448). This muling would suggest that the coin was struck around 1427 (possibly 1428) when both dies were in the mint at Calais.
A number of these mules are known and although uncommon it is not unique
