A silver half groat of the commonwealth (1549-1660) folded / bent into three so it has a profile of a reverse shaped S. The coin has also been pierced from obverse to reverse- although this piercing does not conform to it being mounted / pierced for suspension.

An incomplete silver halfgroat of the Commonwealth period (AD 1649 - 1660). The obverse has the shield of St. George within a wreath formed of a palm and laureal branch. The reverse has the conjoined shields of St. George and Ireland with the mark of value above. The coin is worn and has been pierced at 3 o'clock and 9 o'clock on the obverse. The hole at 3 o'clock has been damaged and a small fragment of the coin has been lost. Mint of London.
