A silver half penny of later medieval date. The coin is most probably an early issue of Henry VI (first reign) - possibly his plain issue (1427-30) - however, it is very difficult to ascribe thetype more precisely due to the lack of diagnostic features (initial marks, stops). The identification is based on the form of crown where the lis, side fluers and ornaments conjoin to give the impression of a band of annulets North: 1453

A heavily worn and broken medieval half penny - probably of Edward IV second reign (1471-1483) struck at the provincial episcopal mint in Durham. The coin is too worn to suggest under whose authority the coin was stuck. The inscription on both faces is lost and therefore the date cannot be further refined. Based on logical deduction it is possibly fits with Withers' Class 2 issued by Bishop Booth North 1669
