A cast copper alloy post medieval strap fitting, most likely a strap slide or "keeper". The plate is 41.6mm in length, convex, with incised and gilded foliate decoration within a decorative border of punched annulets. There is a small terminal knop at either end. The reverse is slightly concave with two integrally cast flat projections. These would probably have formed a square loop through which the loose ends of the straps were held (Maslin 2021).
